Formatting ebooks

Editing_and_Proofreading Blog_355Formatting your manuscript for publication used to be about getting it to look right on the page. If you liked the way it looked, the job was done.

With ebooks, it is more complicated. One of the big benefits for readers is that they can use the settings on their reader to make the display suit their needs. That means not only do you have no control over the final layout, but also you need to make sure there are no hidden gremlins to cause things like blank pages.

This post has some sensible points.
