How to review the first draft of your novel

editing_and_proofreading_blog_802Finishing the first draft is a milestone. But it is a long way from the end of the process. This post covers tackling the next stage.

There is a key message here. The world you have created is clear to you. You have lived with it for a long time, and it makes sense to you.

Your readers are new to that world, and have no background knowledge. They can imagine that world, but they need you to guide them. Don’t assume they know what you know.
